Blog Rhys, Agriculture Coleg Cambria

ADD ALT HERE

Hello, my name is Rhys Thomas Pinder, and I'm studying agriculture at Llysfasi College. I am 17 years old and come from mid Wales.

Since I was a young child, I have studied through the medium of Welsh, and to be honest with you I love the fact that I am bilingual; being able to speak in Welsh and then switch to English as easily as a "click of my fingers" is marvellous.

In my opinion the Coleg Cymraeg scheme is excellent. When speaking Welsh, it is possible to engage more easily with people who speak the language and engage with the wider Welsh-speaking community. It gives you the opportunity to join clubs, social groups, and community councils where you can share your interests and experiences.

As well as developing social connections, speaking Welsh can be advantageous in terms of your career. In the workplace, the ability to speak Welsh can create stronger social connections between staff. This can help promote strong teamwork and increase the sense of partnership and collaboration within the team.

Using the Welsh language offers significant advantages for the individual, the team, and the organisation as a whole. Encouraging efficient communication, stronger social connections, and a robust workplace for the future, the Welsh language is essential for the economic and social prosperity of our communities.

To be completely honest, I'm not quite sure which route I'm thinking of taking after college. At the moment, I'm considering Harper Adams University. The only scary thing is the fact that for the first time in my life I shall have to study through the medium of English, but that bridge will have to be crossed at the time. For the time being I will continue to study through the medium of Welsh and enjoy doing so.

Thanks, and bye for now, Rhys.
