Hi! I'm Gwenno, one of the College's University Ambassadors this year. I feel that I've benefited so much from all the experiences I've had with the College during the past year, and I'm keen to encourage as many people as possible to apply for the opportunity next year!
One of the best experiences was the opportunity to take part in the Urdd's 'Takeover Triban’ this year, and to post photos and videos of the event on the College's social media platforms. I am very interested in pursuing a career in media in the future, and therefore feel that this experience was extremely valuable for me. An opportunity to develop transferable skills, and a little something extra to put on the CV!
I also had the opportunity during the year to work at events such as Tafwyl and Newport UCAS Fair. Once again, these were great opportunities to develop skills in communication, teamwork, etc. at the same time as having fun! And they were also, of course, opportunities to earn a little extra money – always handy for students!
In addition, I had the chance in April to meet the other Ambassadors as a number of us went for an overnight stay at the Urdd Camp at Llangrannog. We had a welcome session to get to know everyone before we took part in some of the activities, and then in the evening we went down to the village for a pint, where everyone had a very enjoyable time!
