Shwmae. My name is Mia Jones, and I am studying level 3 business at CAVC. Since enrolling at the college, I have had several excellent opportunities, such as filming a podcast, and recently I had the opportunity to appear on S4C. Being a college ambassador has been an excellent experience and I have met many new people. I am also very lucky to be able to be part of the national team of ambassadors for Wales. This role is a fantastic opportunity, and I am extremely happy that I have had the chance to be able to help people improve their Welsh for Wales. Since coming to the college from an English-medium school, seeing so much Welsh around the college, from posters to books, has been great.
A little about me:
I am 16 years old and from Cardiff. I'm studying level 3 business at college and working towards going to Manchester University. I have three puppies and two little sisters. Currently, my favourite Welsh-language song is 'Sebona Fi' by Yws Gwynedd. I hope one day to be be able to see him performing live. In my spare time I play for the Whitchurch hockey team. Back in April 2023 the team went to the Netherlands to play against many of different clubs across the country. This was a memorable opportunity. I have also started attending a boxing club and enjoy going to each lesson.
Being able to speak Welsh has given me many opportunities such as winning the dramatic presentation at the Eisteddfod in 2017, and also performing at Tafwyl. I am looking forward to competing at the Eisteddfod this year.
