Hello! I am Siwan and I am a pupil in year 13 at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin. I am currently studying History, Welsh, Drama and the BAC, in the hope of going on to study History and Welsh at university, all through the medium of Welsh.
There are so many benefits to studying through the medium of Welsh, and our role as ambassadors is to promote those benefits to you. Knowing that the main scholarship deadline is approaching, here are 3 reasons why you should seek it out!
- You don't need to pay it back
The scholarship is not seen as a loan, but more as a reward for studying through the medium of Welsh. You can receive £1000 a year for up to 3 years you are at university and if you study at least 66% of your course in Welsh. £3000!
- There are no restrictions
You have the freedom to spend it on whatever you want. Many of the Ambassadors have already shared what they would do with the money. Enjoy university, travel, living expenses, saving, everything under the sun! And it's totally up to you.
Being able to study through the medium of Welsh is enough of a privilege already, without thinking about getting paid to do it!
- You have nothing to lose
It's generally a short process. Fill in your details sharing your own personal reason of why you should receive the scholarship. It won't take long to do, which is all the more reason to apply!
