The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol will holds its Annual Congregation at 18:00 on Tuesday 25 March 2025 at MedRus Centre, Aberystwyth University.
The event will be an opportunity to present certificates to PhD students for achieving a doctorate this year under the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Research Scholarship Scheme, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Scheme.
We will also inaugurate Honorary Fellows for their work and lifelong contribution to Welsh and bilingual tertiary education.
We will take the opportunity to pay tribute to Professor Geraint H. Jenkins, who passed away in January. Geraint was one of Wales' most distinguished historians, a former head and inspirational leader of the Welsh History department at Aberystwyth University and then the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies . He was passionate about supporting university education and research through the medium of Welsh, was author of a number of volumes, editor of the influential series, Cof Cenedl, and one who placed great importance on encouraging and supporting researchers at the beginning of their career.
