Sbarduno Scheme 2025-26
The Sbarduno Scheme is a mentoring scheme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Welsh speakers. The aim of the scheme is to inspire the next generation of Welsh speakers to gain confidence and develop their Welsh skills when making decisions about their future. The mentors run five online mentoring sessions with a young person aged 16-19.
The scheme was launched in 2023-24, during which 8 students aged 16-19 received mentoring sessions from a experienced individuals. The first year was a success, with mentors keen to join us for a second year, and pupils benefitting from hearing the mentors' experiences. In 2024–25, more young people and mentors got involved as the scheme continued to grow.
The Welsh language belongs to everyone, and we are keen to provide opportunities for everyone to use their Welsh skills. Come and join us!
