Sbarduno Scheme 2024-25
The Sbarduno Scheme is a mentoring scheme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Welsh speakers. The aim of the scheme is to inspire the next generation of Welsh speakers to gain confidence and develop their Welsh skills when making decisions about their future. The mentors run five online mentoring sessions with a young person aged 16-19.
For the year 2023-24, Coleg Cymraeg launched a pilot scheme where 8 students aged 16-19 received mentoring sessions from an experienced individual. The first year was a success, with mentors keen to join us for a second year, and pupils benefitting from hearing the mentors' experiences.
The Welsh language belongs to everyone, and by launching the scheme, we are keen to provide opportunities for everyone to use their Welsh skills. Come and join us!

We are now recruiting mentors for the year 2024-25! To declare your interest to become a mentor this year, please fill out the following form. To be a mentor on the scheme, you will also need to complete DBS. This is a paid opportunity.
