Securing the Future of the Welsh Language: Tertiary Education and the Agricultural Workforce

Join us for a panel discussion exploring the role of tertiary education in developing a skilled, bilingual agricultural workforce for the future.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and 20 years of Welsh-medium Agricultural education at Aberystwyth University. The Commission for Welsh-speaking Communities has noted that 43.1% of the agricultural, forestry and fishing workforce speak Welsh, the event provides an opportunity to explore the role of tertiary education in developing a skilled bilingual workforce for the sector.

The event will be chaired by presenter and comedian Mel Owen. A panel of experts will contribute to the discussion, and light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Date: 21 July 2026

Location: Aberystwyth University Education Pavilion (First Floor, 584-G), Royal Welsh Showground

Time: 14:30
