The Coleg Cymraeg has appointed new ambassadors for 2021 encourage more prospective students to take an interest in Welsh-medium higher education.

The 19 ambassadors are basedin universities across Wales. Their main role as ambassadors will be to encourage more learners from schools and further education colleges to pursue their studies through the medium of Welsh and explain the benefits of doing so.

They will represent the Coleg Cymraeg in a variety of ways online, including by making presentations, creating and contributing to the Coleg's social media content, writing blogs and creating 'Sŵn y Stiwdants' podcasts and attend events when it’s safe to do so.

Heledd James is in her second year at University of Wales Trinity Saint David and has been chosen as an ambassador for another year;

"The decision to apply to become an ambassador for the second year was because I really enjoyed last year; creating content for social media, share my experiences and create videos! One of the main benefits for me was being able to share the message of how important it is to study through the medium of Welsh, and all the opportunities that comes with that. ”

'Sŵn y Stiwdants' podcasts can be heard on Spotify, where Welsh-speaking students share their experiences, be it about University life during a pandemic, their courses or chatting and putting the world to rights!  You can also follow their adventures and see their pictures on the Coleg Cymraeg website and the 'DyDdyfodol Di' Instagram and Twitter pages and the 'Coleg Cymraeg' Facebook and YouTube pages.
